Much has been said, now the action can start!
Who is not tired of hearing... that people don’t trust each other any more, that the unemployed don’t want to work anyway, that the youth only cause problems and that the foreigners and the Germans cannot get along anyway? The Flash Job Campaign ignores all those clichés and will try and create a unifying reality of its own.
The Flash Job Campaign moves Berlin
Catalysts from Mexico, USA, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, Poland and Germany are ready to explore the unknown in Neukoelln. Read the newest Flash Job Campaign News or read below about the background of the project.

The Campaign launch is conducted by the socalled „Catalysts”. They are people, who walk into social space in order to get in touch with citizens, without the help of advertisement or established organizations. People like you and me who have the question "Are you ready to trust another person, who is also ready to trust you?" in mind.
Is the shop owner ready to trust a local teenager, who has committed himself to do a job for a couple of hours, and thereby do his best? They don’t know each other yet, but they could experience mutual respect and have the same goals, through the Flash Job!
No listings, no telephone books, no internet, no mailing, no job applications! Instead: Only a spontaneous encounter. Word of mouth and the principle of give and take: What pays off for the giving person is an advantage for the taking person!
The Flash Job Campaign is an aesthetic endeavour and a vehicle for touching upon a most sensible measure of people’s hope: Work as a mean to lead a Self-governed life.
While TeenKom needs a minimum of two years until sustainable structures are realised, The Flash Job Campaign will – for two weeks – test its waters in a socially deprived area in Berlin.
The Flash Job Campaign will encourage and facilitate artists and other applicants to act as catalysts in the project. Furthermore, the campaign will provide a frame work for participants to publish their social interventions at the NEW LIFE BERLIN festival, from June 1st–15th, 2008.
The goal of the campaign is to bring citizens together in job-situations, and as a result discover and portray what happens when cooperative scenarios are established for people who would most likely never form a relationship - whether because of ethnic or religious differences, or because they belong to different social classes, age groups, gender, etc.
Supported through workshops, lectures and multimedia trainings, the Flash Job Campaign will be launched in Berlin Neukoelln. The borough of Neukoelln is said to be the hardest in the city; troubled by unemployment, stigmatized by social welfare, threatened by youth gangs, infiltrated by organized crime and energized by cultural diversity.
